Kansas Governor Temporarily Suspends Supervision Requirements
Executive Order 20-26 provides temporary relief from certain restrictions and requirements governing the provision of medical services for Physician Assistants and other providers. The order is in effect until May 31, 2020 or until rescinded.
The Order signed by Kansas Governor Kelly on April 22nd temporarily suspending Kansas statutory provisions related to supervision and delegation for medical services necessary to support a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Specifically for PAs, statutory and regulatory requirements for a written practice agreement with a physician are in suspension.
Medical facilities are authorized to allow students, enrolled in professional programs, to volunteer or work a facility in whatever role is necessary to support of COVID response.
Out of state providers are permitted to practice in Kansas without penalty for lack of a license. The provider's licenses in other states must be in good standing.
