Kansas Board of Healing Arts COVID-19 UPDATE - PA REGULATIONS
Over the weekend, Governor Kelly issued Executive Order #20-08 expanding the use of telemedicine and temporary licensing.
The Board of Healing Arts issued an “emergency actions and guidance statement” for healthcare professionals.
THE BOARD’S GUIDANCE DOCUMENT HAS BEEN REVISED!
Section D of the revised guidance document now contains provisions for
Physician Assistants responding to COVID-19.
These temporary modifications to the Physician Assistant practice address enforcement of certain regulatory requirements:
- Temporary limited waiver of physician supervision requirement for ED and ICU coverage.
- Temporarily limited suspension of enforcement of limitation on number of Physician Assistants that can be supervised at an off-site clinic.
- Temporarily limited suspension of enforcement of initial 100% chart review requirements for new PA/supervising physician relationship.
- Temporary limited waiver of practice agreement protocol and documentation requirements.
